1. The Start: The first and the foremost thing is to have cool & good
people. If you are alone, it solves the problem. We in Oulu were sitting in
bar drinking beer with friends and just decided to start our chapter.
2. Members: Who to accept? Well, this is a hard one...should you accept
everyone and simply sell your chapter patches to everyone or should you
keep the size of the group smaller and open for just certain types of
people. In smaller towns it is easy to control the size and the quality of the
group. But how about Turbojugend New York? (Of course you could have
several divisions in one city). So I let you decide how to choose your
members. We are open to any people who want to support our work with music culture of Oulu.
3. Action: What is the purpose of your club? Just to manifest your love
and devotion for Turbonegro? It doesn't really matter. But since you now
have a really great bunch of nice people together, why not make
something out of it? Few things that seem to be popular among Jugends
are trips to cool concerts and festivals. Or how about arranging your own
club nights with live bands? But what's most important, do what you like!
We organize 9 concerts a year in Oulu, and it seems like some other Jugends are organizing concerts as well.
4. Get in contact!: Don't be alone. There are Jugends around the world with cool boys & girls.
Share your ideas and thoughts, arrange trips together to go to a Turbonegro show nearby, or what ever.
We started in 2001 when two of our members travelled to Alphamotherfuckers release party in Hamburg, and after that we have been to Germany and our German friends have visited Oulu many times.
In 2005 few members of TJ Oulu bought a cabin in Kuusamo with German Turbojugends from Münster and Heilbronn.
The cabin has already become a popular place to relax in good company.
5. Have fun!: Everybody knows you are the coolest dude. But althought
your Turbojugend club is the coolest thing in town, it is all just about
having fun, NOT showing off.
More strict rules will be written here in case we come up with new ones.
